Following on from my recent blog about massage and its benefits I thought I’d also share with you how I unwind after a long day in salon.
We all have busy life’s if it’s not running the kids to school or after school activities even parties, we are in meetings and answering the phones and making sure that everything is done before the working day is over.
Life is so stressful and sometimes it’s hard to leave work at the front door and be able to just be with the family and enjoy listening to what the kids have done at school.
I know that when I pick the girl’s up from school I put my phone away for 45 minutes and give them my undivided attention, so when we get in the kettle goes on and a pot of tea is made. At 4pm I start work again and life in the Beardsworth house carries on without me as Mr Beardsworth walks through the door and starts daddy duties as I go back to pamper my amazing clients.
I usually finish in the salon at around 8pm and that’s when I put the little monkeys to bed and leave the teenagers to text and do whatever teenagers do. After that it’s time to make sure Mr B is sorted then it’s my time to relax and unwind from the day, it’s my time to meditate and leave all the stress of the day behind.
How do you meditate in a house full of people you might be wondering and im here to tell you it has took alot of practice because the minute I want some time to myself it seems to be that everyone needs me for something.
I now tell the kids and hubby that I am going to meditate and could they give me 20 minutes before they ask me to do anything, I then take myself away into either th salon or bedroom or somethimes run a hot bath and go onto YouTube and look for my meditation music, depending on what I want to get out of meditation depends on which playlist I choose. There are plenty to choose from so just type in mediation and relaxation music and get started. When you first start you will feel like your mind is trying to make you think that’s okay as meditation is like anything it takes practice and the more you don’t the easier it will get.
I have put a link to some music that is really good to start you off at the bottom of this blog so off you go and relax. Making time for yourself is so important it has made me a better parent wife and person because I give myself that time at the end of the day to unwind, that’s not to say I don’t get stressed I am human after all.
